Revolution striker Jerry Bengtson tallied three times for Honduras in Tuesday’s 8-1 World Cup Qualifier win against Canada in San Pedro Sula (Honduras).

Bengtson scored in the 7th, 17th and 83rd minutes, while former Houston Dynamo forward Carlo Costly also netted a trio of his own in the 29th, 48th and 89th minutes. With the win, Honduras advances to the Hexagonal, while Canada has been eliminated.

The Revolution striker will return to Foxboro this week, and is expected to suit up for Saturday’s home finale against the Chicago Fire.

In 11 games for the Revolution, Bengtson has collected two goals, but hasn’t scored since an Aug. 25 match at Columbus.

Since signing a designated player deal with the Revolution in July, the 25-year-old forward has scored six times for Honduras, including three goals during their Olympic campaign in London over the summer.
