Revs Academy Receives High Marks

The United States Soccer Federation has released their 2011-12 U.S. Soccer Development Academy technical report, giving the New England Revolution 20 out of a possible 25 stars. That rating puts the Revolution Academy first in the nation among the 77 clubs evaluated, according to Top Draw Soccer.

The Revolution received at least three out of five stars in all five categories. New England’s ratings are below:

Style of Play: 3 stars (Includes Offensive, Quick Transition & Finishing, Defending, Tactics (playing out from the back), Technical, Physical, Psychosocial)

Training Environment: 3.5 stars (Attendance, Coaching, Translation to Matches, Planning, Logs, Competitiveness and Intensity)

Player Expense: 5 stars (New England does not charge fees to its academy players)

Respect: 4 stars (“The RESPECT grade is based on a club’s disciplinary record, professionalism of staff and spectator behavior.”)

Administrative: 4.5 stars (Scheduling, marketing, registration, web site maintenance, communication and attendance at required Academy events)
