The New England Revolution announced on Tuesday morning that they have re-signed midfielder Lee Nguyen. Per club policy, terms of the new deal were not released. The 2014 season will be Nguyen’s third with the club.

Nguyen joined the Revolution in March 2012 through the MLS Waiver Draft after being let go by the Vancouver Whitecaps. In his first year with the team, Nguyen was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player by the club’s fans.

“We’re pleased we were able to reach a new agreement with Lee,” said General Manager Michael Burns in a statement. “He’s been an important player for us the past two seasons on and off the field, and we believe he’ll continue being a key contributor moving forward.”

The 27-year-old former USMNT player has made 63 appearances for New England in two seasons and has netted nine goals and added nine assists. Last year, Nguyen scored four goals and was tied for second on the team with seven assists in 33 appearances. His four game-winning helpers were tops for the Revolution.
