Breakers Set Preseason Scrimmages

Another sign that spring isn’t as far as it seems arrived on Thursday, when the Boston Breakers announced a trio of scrimmages against local colleges as part of their preseason schedule.

The club will play Northeastern at 7pm on Mar. 23 at Parsons Field in Brookline, Mass., before facing Boston College at 3pm on Mar. 29. in Newton, Mass. The Breakers wrap up their three-game slate against UConn at 7pm on Apr. 5 at Taunton Forekicks in Taunton, Mass.

“We are very fortunate here in New England to have some fantastic college programs that are able to provide competitive games during the preseason campaign,” Boston Breakers general manager Lee Billiard said in a club release on Thursday. “I am always excited to see our local college teams and the next set of players coming through get the opportunity to play against our professional players.”

The Beakers will kick off the regular season against the Seattle Reign at 7pm on Apr. 13 at Memorial Stadium in Seattle. Boston opens its home slate at 6:30pm on Apr. 20 against the expansion Houston Dash at Harvard Stadium.
