The New England Revolution hosted their third pub night of the season on Wednesday at RiRa in Providence.  The event featured appearances by Revolution players Scott Caldwell, Andrew Farrell and Kevin Alston.  The evening was originally scheduled for February, but it had to be postponed due to a snowstorm.

Heavy rains and fog did not deter Revolution supporters from enjoying the opportunity to interact with the players who were more than willing to hang out with fans. Several people quizzed Scott if he knew their friends from his hometown (he didn’t) and if he knew their favorite restaurants (he did).  Others posed for pictures and had the players autograph cards, pictures and soccer balls.

During a lull in the requests for photographs, Andrew decided to teach Scott and Kevin how to play darts. While Scott had some great beginner’s luck, it was Kevin who turned out to be the ringer, nailing 2 throws just outside the bulls eye and winning the game.  When a young fan wanted to join in, Kevin taught him how to throw the darts and Andrew would not let him collect his darts for another turn until he had accurately added up the points he had received.

It was clear from watching the players interact that they have great fun together and this was illustrated clearly at the end of the night when a Revs staff person needed to capture a photograph of all three of them together. A wardrobe change and many poses later, she did get the shot, but not before the guys provided some entertainment for those watching.

The Revolution conclude their pub night tour with on Tuesday, March 18, where fans will welcome Teal Bunbury to the team and they will also have a chance to meet defender AJ Soares and rookies Patrick Mullins and Steve Neumann. The event will take place at Clerys Boston  at 113 Dartmouth St., Boston from 7-9 pm.
