With Saturday’s rematch between the New England Revolution (1-3-1, 4 points) and Houston Dynamo (2-2-0, 1 point) on the newly-installed pitch at Gillette Stadium only hours away, let’s take one last look at what the coaches and players were saying in the days leading up to it.

Revolution coach Jay Heaps (on his suspension):

“It’s business as usual. I think the team is prepared, and when we leave here on Friday, the team’s ready to go and really (on) Saturday, the changes we’ll go over every substitution pattern, myself and the staff and the staff, we’ll go into that game ready because we go over most of our substitution patterns and scenarios and situations in the game. So, we’re always on the same page but we’ll just have to be a little bit more prepared Friday afternoon.”

Dynamo coach Dominic Kinnear (via houstondynamo.com):

“(The Revs) are at home again, they’ve had a little bit of heartbreak and some bad luck run against them. So you have to step on the field thinking that things are going to go their way, and you have to step on the field thinking that guys are going to play well.”

Revolution forward Teal Bunbury:

“I don’t know if it’s revenge and stuff, but definitely we’re not going to forget that first game. But like I always say, we have to focus on ourselves and our fans are going to be there. It’s going to be another great opportunity to get a result at home, and we need three points.”

Dynamo fullback Kofi Sarkodie (via houstondynamo.com):

“If Brad (Davis) is not available, we have guys with experience who got a lot of minutes last year so we’ll kind of pick off where we left off. Of course Brad’s a difference-maker, one of our playmakers and provides a different look for us on the pitch with his free kicks and also his service out wide, but we’ve got to be able to rely on guys coming off the bench. During the World Cup break it’s going to be the same thing, when different guys have to come in and do a job.”
