Former New England Revolution forward Zack Schilawski was named NASL Player of the Month for the month of April after scoring three goals in three games for the Carolina RailHawks.

Schilawski, who spent two seasons with the Revolution (2010-11), scored in the RailHawks season-opener against Indy Eleven on Apr. 12. His two goals against the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers earned him Player of the Week honors for week 2 of the NASL season.

“It’s an honor to be named Player of the Month,” said Schilawski in a league release. “It’s about the team and it’s because of the play of my teammates that it is possible. We’ve gotten off to a good start, and now we have to continue to focus on winning games.”

The Cary, N.C. native joined the RailHawks prior to the 2012 NASL season, and has been a regular starter for his hometown side ever since. A 2010 first-round pick (ninth overall), Schilawski collected a hat trick in his third professional start, which came in a 4-1 win over Toronto FC on Apr. 10, 2010.
