Two days removed from making his international debut with the Uruguay U-20s, Diego Fagundez was held out of the lineup in his squad’s 2-0 win over Brazil in Saturday’s Group B match of the South American Youth Championship.

Fagundez, who went 64 minutes in Thursday’s  1-0 win over Colombia, was the sole starter from the Group B opener who did not return to the lineup. Mauro Arambarri was slotted in Fagundez’s place on the right side of the midfield.

La Celeste received its goals from Gaston Pereiro (27′) and Arambarri (60′). Saturday’s match also marked the squad’s second-straight defensive clean sheet.

Uruguay will resume its tournament run on Wednesday when they face Chile in Maldonado. Coach Fabian Coito’s squad currently sit atop the Group B standings with six points.
