It was a classic case of good news/bad news on Saturday’s Revolution injury report.

After missing Sunday’s match due to right groin irritation, midfielder Lee Nguyen is no longer listed on the report, but Teal Bunbury is listed “out” after suffering a sprained right shoulder during the waning minutes of Sunday’s loss in Seattle.

Bunbury suffered the injury on a challenge with Seattle’s Lamar Neagle in which he fell awkwardly on his right shoulder. The injury forced him to come out the match around the 83rd minute.

Bunbury is already the third starting midfielder to be sidelined this year. In addition to Nguyen, Jermaine Jones underwent surgery last month to repair a sports hernia, and has yet to train with the club.

With Bunbury unavailable on Sunday, Revolution coach Jay Heaps may elect to go with either Kelyn Rowe or Steve Neumann to man the right side. Both were used at the spot last season when Bunbury missed the final two regular season games due to hamstring strain.

“We’re going to play a little differently with different personnel,” Heaps told mlssoccer.com on Thursday. “Some guys aren’t going to be able to go, and the guys that are have to be ready to carry a different load.”

Juan Agudelo could also fill in for Bunbury on the right. During the preseason, Heaps spoke about Agudelo’s versatility, noting that the 22-year-old striker has experience on the wing.

Jones (sports hernia surgery) and Donnie Smith (left groin surgery) both remain out for the second straight week.
