FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Revolution striker Juan Agudelo and midfielder Lee Nguyen were both named to the latest 22-player U.S. Men’s National Team roster on Sunday, three days ahead of its international friendly against Mexico at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Tx.

Agudelo’s last cap came on Mar. 14, 2014 in a 2-0 loss to Ukraine in Cyprus. The 22-year-old striker has 18 caps going into Wednesday’s match.

“I’m very grateful and very happy to be back,” Agudelo said. “It’s something I’ve thought about for the past year.I’m going to do everything that I can to show what I got and to show that I should stay in the pool.”

Agudelo said that Nguyen and fellow U.S. International Jermaine Jones have told him “just be prepared to run.”

“The National Team really wants their players fit,” Agudelo said. “(I) just have to be prepared and healthy and give it all I’ve got.”

Nguyen was called in camp earlier this year, and played in both of the U.S.’s winter friendlies against Chile and Panama. He’s collected six caps with the U.S., three of which have come since last year.

“It’s always great,” Nguyen said of the call-up. “It’s an honor, obviously, and it’s a big game against Mexico – one of the biggest rivals, so I’m looking forward to that.”

The Revolution duo will return to New England ahead of its match against the Philadelphia Union on Sunday, Apr. 19 at PPL Park.
