FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – In his first start with the Revolution U-18s, all U-16 star Diego Fagundez did was everything.

In the first half of the team’s match against the PA Classics U-18’s on Saturday morning, the high school sophomore started up top and scored the Revs first two goals (8th and 29th minutes), then assisted on the remaining two goals – both to fellow striker Fabio Machado, Jr. (64th and 84th minutes) – in the U-18’s 4-3 win.

The U-16s did not fair as well as their counterparts as they dropped a 2-0 loss to the PA Classics U-16s. Peter Ayers collected the only goals of the game in the 48th and 52nd minutes.

On Sunday, the U-18s returned to the pitch and found some firepower from Daniel Chumura and Felipe Fagundes, who each tallied goals in the 29th and 42nd minutes, respectively. But their efforts were not enough, as James McLaughlin turned in a singular performance with a hat trick (goals in 4th, 8th, and 55th minutes) to give FC DELCO a 3-2 win.

Meanwhile, the U-16s attempted to salvage a .500 record for the Academy on the weekend, but came up just short as they claimed a 1-1 draw to the FC DELCO U-16s. Jack Hilger gave the Revs a lead right out of the interval (46th minute) with an assist from Fagundez, but it was quickly answered by Brett Campbell in the 49th minute.

The Academy returns to action this weekend and will play a pair of matches against Potomac on Saturday and Baltimore Bays Chelsea on Sunday.
