Soccer will take center stage in Ludlow, Mass. during its annual festa weekend once again as the Western Mass Pioneers will play a friendly against Connecticut Soccer League outfit Newtown Pride FC at 3:00pm on Sept. 6 at Lusitano Stadium.

The match will take during the Our Lady of Fatima Parish Festa, which is held every year during Labor Day weekend. The annual festa is one of the most popular in the region.

Last year, Western Mass Pro Soccer hosted its inaugural ASL match during the festa. In 2013, the Gremio Lusitano Club – the organization that also runs the Pioneers – played the Pride during festa weekend.

The organization is hoping that the friendly kickstarts an annual tradition, with the possibility of awarding a trophy to the winner every year.

Admission to the Pioneers-Pride match is free.
