FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Lee Nguyen scored and assisted before halftime, but Fabian Castillo’s late strike doomed the Revolution in Saturday’s 4-2 loss to FC Dallas at Gillette Stadium.

Nguyen set up Juan Agudelo on a free kick that found the Revolution striker inside the area, where he nodded it through in the 15th minute. The assist man turned scorer in the 23rd minute moments after he was pulled down inside the area to set up Nguyen’s second strike from the spot this season.

But the Revolution offense went silent in the second half, and Castillo grabbed the go-ahead in the 70th minute when he got a hold of a long ball misplayed by Sambinha, who could only watch as Castillo raced away and put it past Shuttleworth. It was the Sporting loanee’s first MLS start.

Dallas put the match to bed in the 90th minute when Kellyn Acosta put through Tesho Akindele, who coolly finished it inside the box.

Akindele secured the opening goal from the spot in the fifth minute shortly after Michael Barrios was cut down by Bobby Shuttleworth inside the box. Dallas grabbed its second goal after Atiba Harris powerfully steered a corner kick from Acosta that Shuttleworth was unable to stop at the near post in the 36th minute.

Barrios, who suffered an injury on his challenge with Shuttleworth, came off in the eighth minute.

Revolution midfielder Gershon Koffie was forced to exit the match in the 28th minute after suffering a right knee injury. He was replaced by Diego Fagundez.

With the loss, the Revolution drop to 2-4-7 (13 points) while Dallas improves its mark to 8-4-2 (26 points).

The Revolution will play their final match before the Copa America break on Saturday, May 28 when they host the Seattle Sounders. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm. Last year, the Revolution suffered a season-opening 3-0 defeat at Seattle.
