US Edges Jamaica on Morris Goal

Former Revolution midfielder Benny Feilhaber assisted on the deciding goal from Jordan Morris which gave the United States a 1-0 in over Jamaica in Friday’s friendly at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, Tenn.

With the hour approaching and few solid scoring opportunities seen from either side, Feilhaber collected a pass from Dax McCarty then ran at goal before sliding right for Morris. With only goalkeeper Ryan Thompson to beat, the Sounders man made it look easy by sending it through to unbreak the deadlock.

A pair of Revolution regulars went the full 90 as Juan Agudelo got the start up top for the U.S. while Je-Vaughn Watson got the nod on the right side of the midfield for Jamaica.

Former Revolution discovery player Sebastian Lletget went the distance as well for the U.S., which gave coach Bruce Arena his first win with the program since 2006. Arena succeeded former boss Jurgen Klinsmann, who was fired last November.

Luis Robles and David Bingham combined for the clean sheet, the second of the calendar year for the U.S.

The U.S. will return to action on Mar. 24 with far more on the line when they resume World Cup Qualifying against Honduras at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif.
