USASA: Southie FC Set for Rematch w/ Lansdowne Bhoys

Boston-based Southie FC will meet regional USASA rival Landsdowne Bhoys (NY) in the first round of the Region 1 bracket of the 2017 National Amateur Cup tournament after the field was announced on Sunday.
The first round clash, which is a rematch of last year’s 2nd round National Amateur Cup tilt, will take place during the weekend on Apr. 8/9 in New York. The Bhoys won last year’s meeting 4-1.
Southie claimed the top spot in the Bay State Soccer League’s Division 2 table in 2016, a year in which the squad also competed in the U.S. Open Cup tournament. The Boys in Neon pulled off a shock first round win over Seacoast United Phantoms before falling to the Rochester Rhinos in the second round.
The club, which earned promotion to BSSL’s Division 1, will kick off its 2017 league schedule on Apr. 1 vs. The Playwright FC.
