Former Revolution goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth made his Minnesota United FC debut as a late-match substitute in Sunday’s 6-1 defeat to Atlanta United FC at a snowy TCF Bank Stadium.

Shuttleworth, who was traded to Minnesota last month for Femi Hollinger-Janzen, entered the match in the 86th minute to spell John Alvbage after the starting keeper injured his knee and had to be carted off the field.

But Shuttleworth could do little to thwart Atlanta’s dangerous offense as he conceded a 90 + 4 minute goal to Jacob Peterson.

The 29-year-old keeper spent eight seasons in New England, where he played in 127 matches and collected 34 clean sheets. In 2016, he allowed 38 goals in 21 games, posting a 1.80 goals against average amid a season in which Brad Knighton took over starting goalkeeper duties.

Should Alvbage’s injury force him to miss time, Shuttleworth could get his first start with the Loons on Saturday at Colorado.
