It was a mix of good and disappointing news for regional soccer fans as Attleboro, Mass. native Geoff Cameron was called up by the U.S. for the next round of World Cup Qualifying while Revolution striker Juan Agudelo did not make the 24-man roster.

Cameron has played in 19 Qualifiers during his career, and recently returned to action with Stoke City (EPL) following a knee injury. Agudelo was called up for the U.S.’s January camp, but will not join the team for its upcoming Qualifiers against Honduras on Mar. 24 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif. and Panama in Panama City on Mar. 28.

“We put together a roster that we think has balance and one that gives us an option in playing a number of different ways,” U.S. head coach Bruce Arena said in a team release. “It’s a roster where the primary rationale is to help us be successful in these two games, but we’re also looking down the road and bringing in some young players that we think have an opportunity to be an important part of the National Team program as well. Our approach to these games is simple: We want to win.”

Players will begin reporting to San Jose on Sunday.
