Revs U-16 Herivaux continues to shine

The accolades continue to pour for 15-year-old Zachary Herivaux, a member of the New England Revolution U-16 youth team. Herivaux, a midfielder who was named one of the top five U-17 players to watch in the world by FourFourTwo magazine in June, was recently named MVP of the Eastern Independent League (EIL).

Revs U-16 player, Zachary Herivaux, was recently named MVP of the Eastern Independent League as a freshman at Beaver Country Day School.

Herivaux, in addition to playing for the Revs U-16s, plays for and attends Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill, Mass. In his first season at Beaver Country Day School, Herivaux tallied eight goals and added seven assists, while leading the team to an 11-3-3 record and earning EIL MVP honors. Despite missing four games and playing as a midfielder, Herivaux finished fourth in the league in scoring.

Herivaux was a member of the U.S. U-15 Boys National Team player pool in the spring and played for the Shalrie Joseph Soccer Club, run by the New England Revolution star of the same name, prior to joining the Revs academy. He played one year (2010) for Brookline High School’s varsity soccer team, one of only three freshmen on the team, before transferring to Beaver Country Day School.

Born to a Haitian father and Japanese mother, Herivaux trialed with Japanese Club Gamba Osaka, a club his father Pedro played at in the 1990s, back in August of 2010. Prior to his time with the U.S. U-15s and the Revs Academy, Zachary had previously expressed a desire to play for the Japanese National Team.

Zachary Herivaux trained with Sporting Club de Portugal in 2008 and was offered a spot in the U13 Sporting Academy team, but opted to stay in the U.S.

Herivaux has been a regular starter for the Revs U-16s in their recent friendlies. He is listed at 5-foot-10 by the Revolution.
