Despite trialing under former New England Revolution head coach Steve Nicol in October, Théophile Junior N’Tame may be a part of new head coach Jay Heaps’ plans. According to a report on French site MLS-News.fr, N’Tame is likely to sign for the Revs.

The 26-year-old center back took part in the Revs Reserves 5-1 loss to Columbus on October 16th and was one of the few players to leave that game with any credit. Heaps was a spectator at that match as NTame showed strength and composure on the ball and looked strong passing out of the back.

The Cameroonian, who most recently played at Stade Brestois 29 in France’s Ligue 2, would add much needed help to a Revolution roster that currently contains just three natural defenders. N’Tame played center back for the Revs reserves, where his six-foot-two frame served him well, but he can also play right back.

N’Tame has also spent time at clubs in Switzerland, Belgium and Slovenia during his career.

French midfielder Nicolas Dieuze, who was a Revs trialist in the same reserve game as N’Tame, is linked to Chivas USA in the same report. Unlike N’Tame, the 32-year-old Dieuze put in an underwhelming performance in central midfield for the Revolution Reserves.
