Defender Dylan Remick scored\u00a0inside of 10 minutes to help lead No. 22 Brown (3-0-0) to a 2-0 win over Cleveland State (2-2-0)\u00a0in the Brown Soccer Classic on Friday at Stevenson Field in Providence, R.I.<\/p>\n
Remick (10′)\u00a0and fellow defender Eric Robertson (70′) collected their first goals of the season while Bears keeper Sam Kernan-Schloss recorded\u00a0a pair of\u00a0saves and earned his third-straight clean sheet of the young season. Brown has yet to allow goal this season through its first three contests.<\/p>\n
Brown wasted little time grabbing the opening goal when Jameson Lochhead found himself surrounded by a score of Vikings defenders before he deferred to Remick, who hit a one-time blast through in the 10th minute. Although the hosts outshot their guests 10-8 in the first half, the Bears couldn’t capitalize again before the interval.<\/p>\n
But with 20 minutes to go, Brown widened the margin when Voltaire Escalona fed a pass to Robertson, whose hard shot snuck under the bar to cap the scoring in the 70th minute.<\/p>\n
The Bears\u00a0return to Stevenson Field\u00a0on Sunday when they host Fordham at 2:30 pm\u00a0in the second game of the Brown Soccer Classic .<\/p>\n
