The 24th-ranked Boston College women’s soccer team is the lone New England school to earn a bid to this year’s NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Tournament after the 64-team bracket was released on Monday.<\/p>\n

The Eagles (10-7-3), who finished eighth inside a strong Atlantic Coast Conference, will host Colonial Athletic Conference Champion Hofstra (11-8-2) at 7pm on Nov. 9 at the Newton Soccer Field.<\/p>\n

“Certainly, this never gets old. We never take this (an NCAA bid) for granted,” said BC head coach Alison Foley, who has led the Eagles to 12 of the 16 NCAA tournaments, in a statement. “We are very happy to be at home and feel we used this layoff in a positive manner. We will be ready to go.”<\/p>\n

The Eagles went 6-2-1 at home in 2012, including a signature win on Oct. 18 when they upset 1st-ranked Florida State 3-2 at Newton Soccer Field.<\/p>\n

In 2011, the Eagles advanced to the Sweet 16 before they were bounced by 1-seed Stanford in a 2-0 loss.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
