FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Veteran defender Flo Lechner confirmed on Friday that he will not return to the Revolution in 2013.<\/p>\n

Lechner, 31, played in nine games for New England in 2012, all at right back. He made seven starts and collected his lone assist of the season in a 2-2 comeback draw at Toronto on Jun. 23.<\/p>\n

In addition to his experience with the first team, the German international also featured in three Reserve League matches, lending his experience to a number of Revolution rookies and Academy players.<\/p>\n

Injuries limited Lechner during his lone season in Foxboro.\u00a0Following his MLS debut at Dallas on Apr. 5, a broken foot sidelined him for nearly a month. In what turned out to be his final game in a Revolution uniform,\u00a0Lechner\u00a0suffered a season-ending\u00a0MCL sprain against the Red Bulls on Sept. 22.<\/p>\n

Prior to signing with the Revolution on Mar. 14, 2012, the vocal defender played\u00a0in Germany for\u00a0Karlsruher SC, St. Pauli FC and VfB Stuttgart II.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
