Former Brown University defender Dylan Remick became the latest New England-area college prospect to earn a professional contract after signing with the Seattle Sounders FC last week.<\/p>\n
Remick was selected by the Sounders in the second round (35th overall) of last month’s SuperDraft. He featured centrally and on both wings for the club during the preseason, according to The Seattle Times<\/em> writer Joshua Mayers.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been very happy with Dylan,\u201d Sounders head coach Sigi Schmid said in a news release. \u201cHe is very good athletically, and he has the ability to play any position across the backline. He\u2019s a good passer and he\u2019s improving every day, and he\u2019s definitely someone that we think we can build on for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n Remick was a three-time All-Ivy selection at Brown and was the first Bear to earn All-American honors since current Chicago Fire midfielder Jeff Larentowicz\u00a0earned the honors in\u00a02004. He helped lead the Bears to a 12-2-3 record in 2012, as well as back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances in 2010 and 2011.
