After it was discovered that New York fielded an ineligible player during the contest, the USASA ruled that the Cosmopolitan League side was to forfeit the win.<\/p>\n<p>However, New York appealed the ruling, advising that their league had\u00a0erroneously advised team\u00a0officials that the player in question &#8211; Andreas\u00a0Chronis &#8211;\u00a0was eligible for Cup play even as he served a lengthy suspension in league play.
