It won’t exactly be a marshmallow and graham cracker affair, but Camp Durkin officially opens its doors on Monday when the Boston Breakers kick off its preseason preparations at the University Sports Complex in Hanover, Mass.<\/p>\n

Under the watch of new coach Tom Durkin, who was handed the reins last September, the Breakers will begin a five-week preseason schedule leading up to their NWSL season-opener against Seattle Reign FC on Apr. 13 at\u00a0Memorial Stadium in Seattle.<\/p>\n

The Breakers are set to play a trio of preseason games, beginning with a Mar. 24 contest against Northeastern University at 7 p.m. at Parsons Field in Brookline, Mass. Later that week, the Breakers will face Boston College on Mar. 29 at 3 p.m. in Newton, Mass. before wrapping up their preseason schedule against the University of Connecticut on Apr. 5 at 3 p.m. at ForeKicks in Taunton, Mass.<\/p>\n

While the majority of the team is expected to be in town on Monday, Algarve Cup action will keep U.S. Women’s National Team players Heather O\u2019Reilly, Kristie Mewis, and Alyssa Naeher overseas, while Lianne Sanderson (England), Kaylyn Kyle (Canada), and Boston\u2019s 2014 first overall pick Nkem Ezurike (Canada) are playing in the Cyprus Cup.<\/p>\n

The U.S. players are expected to arrive on Mar. 15, while Ezurike is due back Mar. 14, Sanderson on Mar. 16, and Kyle on Mar. 24. Newcomer Lisa De Vanna, who the club acquired last week, is scheduled to be in camp on Monday.<\/p>\n

The Breakers open their home schedule on Apr.\u00a020 against the expansion Houston Dash at 6:30 p.m. After playing at Dilboy Stadium for the past three years, the Breakers will call Harvard Stadium home in 2014.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
