New Hampshire native and U.S. Women’s National Team U-20 star Morgan Andrews is among 15 players on the New England Mutiny’s preliminary 2014 roster, which was released on Monday.<\/p>\n

Andrews, who also played for the Mutiny for parts of the past three seasons, will be joined by 2013 All-WPSL selection Sarah Brochu, 2013 WPSL National Championship Best XI honoree Alie Fitzsimmons, 2013 All-WPSL East selection McKenzie Hollenbaugh and leading scorer Tori Sousa.<\/p>\n

“In 15 seasons, only the 2008 Mutiny returned more players from the previous season than this year’s team, which is a testament to the professional environment instilled by Roy Gurnon, and the chemistry and camaraderie of last year’s team,” said Mutiny Team Owner Joe Ferrara, Jr. said in a statement on Monday. “We have also added some quality depth and being able to utilize local area talent is gratifying. Selecting four players from American International, right here in the Springfield area, is important for us and kudos to coach Matt Johnson for resurrecting the program into a national contender.”<\/p>\n

The WPSL has not released its 2014 master schedule, but the regular season typically kicks off in May and runs through July.<\/p>\n

The Mutiny, who\u00a0recorded an 8-1-5 (29 points)\u00a0in 2013, clinched the East\u00a0Conference last year. They booked a trip to the WPSL Semifinals in Elk Grove, Calif. before they were knocked out by the Houston Aces in the first semifinal.<\/p>\n
