If Jerry Bengtson discovers his scoring touch at the club level anytime soon, it won’t be with the New England Revolution.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the club announced that it had sent the goal-starved striker to Belgrano (Argentina) on a one-year loan that will expire at the end of June 2015.<\/p>\n

Bengtson, who was originally acquired by the Revolution in July 2012 asa designated player,\u00a0had scored four goals in 36 career MLS games. The Honduran forward saw his playing time reduced in 2014, earning only one start in seven games with the Revolution. His last goal came in a 2-0 win over the Dynamo on Apr. 12.<\/p>\n

With Bengtson gone for the foreseeable future, the Revolution currently have 26 players at their disposal.\u00a0General\u00a0manager Michael\u00a0Burns told the media earlier this month that the club had its sights set on “1-2 players,” but did not reveal much more about the team’s intentions regarding its roster\u00a0this summer.<\/p>\n
