With scheduled summertime field improvements at Harvard Stadium already forcing one tenant to an alternative location<\/a>, the Boston Breakers aren’t ready to seek a new home just yet.<\/p>\n

The Breakers, who’ve called Harvard Stadium home for much of their existence, are currently looking to stay at the historic venue for the upcoming NWSL campaign.<\/p>\n

“We are working on scheduling and options with Harvard,” Breakers general manager Lee Billiard said. “We will have an announcement once details are finalized in the coming weeks.”<\/p>\n

Prior to playing their home games at the 30,323 capacity Harvard Stadium, the Breakers hosted opponents at Dilboy Stadium in Somerville, Mass., which seats 2,800, from 2012-2013.<\/p>\n

The Breakers called Harvard Stadium home from 2009-11 as a member of the now-defunct Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS).<\/p>\n

During their time in WPS, the Breakers incorporated the stadium’s iconic design as part of their annual “Pillars of Excellence” award, which honored the best players during the club’s history.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
