National Team players Nkem Ezurike (Canada), Kristie Mewis (U.S.), Alyssa Naeher (U.S.), and Bianca Sierra (Mexico) will return to the Boston Breakers for the 2015 season after NWSL allocated them back to the squad on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Naeher was a standout between the sticks in 2014, making a league-record 106 saves in 24 games. Her efforts were rewarded with the NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year. <\/p>\n

Mewis, a favorite to join the U.S. squad for the Women’s World Cup in June, scored three goals and added two assists in 17 games for her hometown squad.<\/p>\n

Ezurike was the Breakers’ first pick in the 2014 draft, and injected life into the attack by scoring two goals in 11 games. <\/p>\n

Sierra was acquired in a midseason trade with Washinton last year, and quickly became a regular on the Breakers backline. She played in 11 games, and collected an assist. <\/p>\n

The Canadian Soccer Association, Federation of Mexican Football and U.S. Soccer will be subsidizing the salaries of the aforementioned players. <\/p>\n

Though all three federations are planning on hosting extended training camps ahead of the FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup in Canada, they have agreed to release their players to participate from the start of the 2015 season.<\/p>\n

The Breakers will kick off their 2015 campaign on Apr. 11 in Portland, and will play their first home game of the season on Apr. 26 when they host the Houston Dash at Harvard Stadium. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
