Two days\u00a0removed from\u00a0making his international debut with the Uruguay U-20s, Diego Fagundez was\u00a0held out of the lineup in his squad’s 2-0 win over Brazil in\u00a0Saturday’s Group B\u00a0match of the South American Youth Championship.<\/p>\n

Fagundez, who went 64 minutes in Thursday’s\u00a0 1-0 win over Colombia<\/a>, was the\u00a0sole starter from the Group B\u00a0opener who\u00a0did not return to\u00a0the lineup.\u00a0Mauro Arambarri was slotted in Fagundez’s place on the right side of the midfield.<\/p>\n

La Celeste<\/em> received its goals from Gaston Pereiro (27′) and Arambarri (60′). Saturday’s match also marked the squad’s second-straight defensive clean sheet.<\/p>\n

Uruguay\u00a0will resume its tournament run on Wednesday when they face Chile in Maldonado. Coach Fabian Coito’s squad currently sit atop the Group B standings with six points.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
