Diego Fagundez\u00a0was left on the bench for\u00a0the Uruguay U-20’s 2-1 loss to Argentina in Saturday’s South American Youth Championship final.<\/p>\n

The Revolution midfielder, who’d last seen action as a late-game substitute in a 3-1\u00a0win over Peru on\u00a0Jan. 29,\u00a0did not\u00a0get minutes\u00a0in\u00a0either of\u00a0Uruguay’s\u00a0final two matches of the tournament.<\/p>\n

Despite the loss, Uruguay still booked its ticket to the 2015 U-20 World Cup in New Zealand, which will run from May 30-Jun. 20.<\/p>\n

Fagundez was called into Uruguay U-20 camp in December before making the final cut. He accumulated 147 minutes over four matches (two starts, two substitute appearances) for his native country.<\/p>\n

With the tournament over, Fagundez is expected to re-join the Revolution for preseason camp later this week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
