A.J. Soares isn’t the only footballer with ties to\u00a0New England\u00a0who’s anxious to\u00a0continue his career\u00a0in Scandinavia this year.<\/p>\n

Former Western Mass Pro Soccer striker Will Daniels has signed a\u00a0contract with\u00a0Icelandic second division side KF Aegir following a successful week-long\u00a0trial in which he scored and assisted in two preseason scrimmages.<\/p>\n

Daniels, who tallied\u00a0seven times in 10 games for the Lusitanos during the fall 2014 ASL campaign, will join\u00a0Aegir ahead of their 2015 campaign, which kicks off on May 9.<\/p>\n

“It was good,”\u00a0Daniels told SoccerViza.com of his trial<\/a>.\u00a0“It was a very good experience for me to get to see a difference professional angle than what I\u2019ve seen in the United States \u2026 they treated me very well, made me feel at home.”<\/p>\n

Daniels originally joined the Western Mass organization in 2013 after spending the bulk of the PDL season with the Kitsap Pumas. He scored in his Pioneers debut, and returned for the 2014 season. In 14 games, he scored five goals and added two assists for the Ludlow-based selection<\/a> before moving on to join the organization’s pro club for the fall.<\/p>\n
