FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The Revolution trained in blustery conditions at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday for their final training session at home before flying out to Colorado ahead of Saturday’s contest against the Rapids at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.<\/p>\n

The Revolution will travel Denver on Thursday, and train there later that day as well as Friday as they acclimate to the high altitude. Saturday’s contest will be sole meeting between the MLS originals during the 2015 regular season.<\/p>\n

Here are a few notable items from the training session, which was open to the media for passing and possession drills:<\/p>\n

*Kevin Alston, Jermaine Jones and Teal Bunbury all participated in training on Wednesday. Revolution coach Jay Heaps said that Bunbury would be involved in the team’s gameplan for Colorado, but indicated that Jones and Alston may need more time before they’re ready to return to the pitch.<\/p>\n

*The only absentees from Wednesday’s training were midfielder Tyler Rudy and midfielder\/forward Timi Mulgrew. Both are expected to be loaned to Rochester later this week. The Rhinos opened its USL campaign last weekend with a 0-0 draw to New York Red Bulls II. <\/p>\n

*Heaps, Bunbury, Daigo Kobayashi and Jose Goncalves all spoke to reporters prior to Wednesday’s training. <\/p>\n

*Kobayashi revealed that his favorite player is Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta. Said Kobayashi: “He has good (vision) and good technique…(makes) no mistakes.\u201d<\/p>\n

*Did you know? Heaps and Rapids boss Pablo Mastroeni were roommates for two years during their time with the Miami Fusion in the late-1990s and early-2000s. Heaps told the media on Wednesday that Mastroeni is “one of the biggest competitors I’ve ever met.”<\/p>\n

*The Revolution didn’t bypass the opportunity for a good April Fool’s Day joke when they tweeted that they had filed an appeal<\/a> of MLS’s decision to dock the club three points for their use of yellow balls and yellow lines for Saturday’s snowy 2-1 win over San Jose. <\/p>\n
