The accolades keep on pouring through for Seacoast United Phantoms striker Anthony Grant, who was named as the PDL’s Most Valuable Player on Thursday at the league’s Championship Dinner.<\/p>\n

Grant, who also made the All-Conference Team for the Eastern Conference earlier this week, scored 12 goals in 12 games for the Phantoms in 2015. His 12 goals were good enough to give him the PDL’s Golden Boot Award, as well. He also added four assists, giving him a league-best 2.33 points per game average.<\/p>\n

Over the last two seasons, Grant has scored a combined 26 goals, as well as back-to-back All-League selections.<\/p>\n

The 2015 PDL Awards were selected through a vote of team management.<\/p>\n

2015 PDL Award Winners
\nMost Valuable Player \u2013 Anthony Grant, Seacoast United Phantoms<\/strong>
\nGrant added the PDL Most Valuable Player award to his Golden Boot after a standout season that saw him score 12 regular-season goals to lead the Phantoms to a second consecutive postseason berth. Grant has scored 26 goals in the past two season in the PDL, earning back-to-back All-League selections, and was a former standout at Bowling Green University.<\/p>\n

Young Player of the Year \u2013 Timothy Mueller, Lane United FC<\/strong>
\nMueller had an outstanding season for United this summer, averaging a goal per game in the Northwest Division. Set to be a sophomore at Oregon State this fall, Mueller\u2019s nine goals earned him All-League selection as his composure in front of goal and movement off the ball signaled bright things in his future.<\/p>\n

Defender of the Year \u2013 Dennis Castillo, Portland Timbers U-23s<\/strong>
\nCastillo had an excellent\u00a0season for the Timbers U-23s, as he played in all but one of the side\u2019s regular season contests. A member of the PDL All-League team, Castillo had a goal and an assist for Portland in the regular season, but it was his consistency in the Timbers U-23s back line that shone through as they conceded only nine goals in 12 regular-season contests.<\/p>\n

Goalkeeper of the Year \u2013 Matt Grosey, Kitsap Pumas<\/strong>
\nGrosey played every minute of the season for the Pumas, as he led the side to an undefeated 10-0-2 record with a league-best 0.333 goals-against average. Grosey also finished tied for the league lead with eight shutouts, as he conceded only four goals with a save percentage of 0.846 to earn All-League honors.<\/p>\n

Coach of the Year \u2013 David Dixon, Charlotte Eagles<\/strong>
\nMoving into the head coach\u2019s role for the Eagles as the club joined the PDL in 2015, Dixon led the Eagles to an undefeated regular season and the South Atlantic Division title. With a number of standout performers in his side, including All-League selection Nathan Regis, Dixon produced a side that played attractive, attacking soccer, which at the same time defending solidly as it finished the regular season with a +23 goal differential.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
