Last weekend, a stacked Impact side kept the Revolution from clinching a postseason berth in Montreal. But on Saturday, it appears the only thing standing in the locals’ way will be a skeleton Union selection.<\/p>\n

With the Union’s sights focused on next week’s U.S. Open Cup final against Sporting Kansas City, the squad the Revolution face on Saturday isn’t expected to be a first-choice XI according to a local report.<\/a><\/p>\n

“You will see a different lineup,” Union coach Jim Curtin told philly.com<\/em> on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Although it’s unlikely that a number of key starters will be in Curtin’s lineup come Saturday, Revolution coach Jay Heaps knows that planning for the unknown presents a challenge in and of itself.<\/p>\n

“The only ones we\u2019re going to know is their staff,” Heaps told NESoccerToday.com<\/em> on Wednesday. “It\u2019s one of those (things) where you can’t get a real read on what they\u2019re going to do. They have a big match the following Wednesday, and they\u2019re right in the hunt for the playoffs. If you think too much about it, you\u2019ll probably spend too much time on that.”<\/p>\n

Even though the Revolution won’t know exactly which players they’ll face on Saturday, they aren’t going into it completely blind.<\/p>\n

“We have an idea what they\u2019re projected lineup will be, we have an idea of other lineups they may use, and then we leave it at that,” Heaps said. “Trying to break down the exact personnel could be a little bit of time-wasting, so this week will be a focus on what we need to do and what our strengths are.”<\/p>\n

As for the Union, Curtin hinted that the likes of Sebastian Le Toux, Cristian Maidana and C.J. Sapong could all get minutes against the Revolution, even if they aren’t in the lineup.<\/p>\n
