Former Revolution goalkeeper Adin Brown will get another crack at raising the MLS Cup trophy on Sunday, some 13 years after he brought the local XI to the brink of a title.<\/p>\n

Brown is in his his first season as goalkeepers coach for the Portland Timbers, who clinched the Western Conference title with a 5-3 aggregate win over FC Dallas.<\/p>\n

Many local supporters will recall Brown’s role in the Revolution’s 2002 MLS Cup run<\/a>, one in which he posted a sterling 0.71 goals against average during the postseason.<\/p>\n

In 2012, Brown told NESoccerToday.com<\/em> about what he believed made the 2002 team tick.<\/p>\n

“The thing I think of the most about that team is the camaraderie we had on that team,” Brown said at the time. “From preseason on we had each others back, we were all really good friends.”<\/p>\n

Brown played in 48 regular season matches for the Revolution from 2002 through 2004 before he departed for Norwegian side Aalesunds. He retired in 2011.<\/p>\n
