The Revolution closed out their first Copper State excursion of the winter in wild fashion as a pair of equalizers authored by Foxboro outfit went for naught in a 3-2 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday at Kino North Stadium in Tucson, Ariz.<\/p>\n

Vancouver reached the board first by virtue of Masato Kudo’s 31st minute goal to give his side an advantage that disappeared 11 minutes later when Charlie Davies scored his second preseason goal from a Chris Tierney free kick in the 42nd minute to make it level going into the break.<\/p>\n

The second half saw Debyi Flores restore the Whitecaps lead in the 53rd minute before rookie fullback Jordan McCrary equalized in the 66th minute. McCrary’s goal, though, stood for only seconds as Kekuta Manneh put the Whitecaps back on top for good in the 67th minute.<\/p>\n

Octavio Rivero, who scored twice against the Revolution during the 2015 preseason, nearly made it a two-goal game when he clanked the crossbar in the 77th minute.<\/p>\n

With the loss the Revolution exit Casa Grande with a 1-2-0 record, scoring a total of five goals while\u00a0conceding five\u00a0during their trip.<\/p>\n

The locals will return to Foxboro next week to prepare for the Desert Diamond Cup tournament, which will run from Feb. 17-27. The Revolution will open the tourney with a Feb. 17 match against Real Salt Lake at 10:00pm ET.<\/p>\n
