In news that should come as a surprise to no one, Revolution forward Charlie Davies is listed as questionable with a hamstring strain on the club’s injury report, which was released on Friday.<\/p>\n

Davies exited last week’s match against DC United in the 34th minute after tweaking his left hamstring minutes earlier. Following the match, Davies downplayed the seriousness of the injury.<\/p>\n

“It felt like a mild strain if you will,” Davies said at the time. “I felt like I\u2019d give it one more chance to have a scoring opportunity and it came with Teal crossing. I tried the bike, I tried to improvise. And then I just felt like OK, that was my chance, now it\u2019s time to be smart and come off. It\u2019s early in the season, if I\u2019m going to have something like this happen, I\u2019d rather it now then later on in the season.”<\/p>\n

Revolution coach Jay Heaps told the media on Tuesday that the coaching and medical staffs would take a cautious approach with Davies going into Sunday’s match.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re hopeful for Sunday\u2019s game, but at the same time, we want to be mindful of the entire year,\u201d Heaps said. \u201cWe need to handle Charlie with the right amount of precaution now, so it doesn\u2019t linger and isn\u2019t something that hangs on for a couple weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davies was the lone player listed on the Revolution injury report. Midfielder Kelyn Rowe, who was questionable ahead of last week’s match with a hip injury, did not appear on Friday’s report.<\/p>\n

On the other side of the pitch, midfielders Maurice Edu (left tibia stress reaction 3\/10, out 3-4 months) and Tranquillo Barnetta (left knee osteoarthritis) both appeared on the Union’s injury list.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
