FOXBOROUGH, Mass. \u2013 Newly-acquired striker Kei Kamara made his Revolution debut to help lead his new team to a 2-0 win over the Chicago Fire in front of 18,997 on Saturday at Gillette Stadium.<\/p>\n

Kamara, who was brought in by the Revolution in a trade with Columbus on Thursday, started up top and fired a team-high six shots in a game that Lee Nguyen scored his first goal from the run of play in the 22nd minute.<\/p>\n

The Revolution grabbed an insurance goal in the 84th on Femi Hollinger-Janzen\u2019s first career MLS goal, which came from a Juan Agudelo cross from the right channel. Hollinger-Janzen became the first Revolution rookie to find the back of the net since 2014, when first-rounder Patrick Mullins scored in four straight matches. <\/p>\n

The opening score came from a Kelyn Rowe short corner that found Scott Caldwell, who played it to Nguyen in the area, where the creative midfielder one-timed it off the inside of the far post before it settled into the back of the net.<\/p>\n

Nguyen\u2019s goal, his second of the season, gave the Revolution their first lead at the half since a 1-1 draw vs. Toronto on Apr. 9.<\/p>\n

Kamara, who entered the match with five goals on the current campaign, also won a game-high six aerial duels in his debut, which coincided with the squad\u2019s first win since Apr. 1.<\/p>\n

Injuries to Jose Goncalves (chest), Chris Tierney (hamstring), and Donnie Smith (hamstring) forced Revolution coach Jay Heaps to use a makeshift backline consisting of Rowe, Andrew Farrell, Je-Vaughn Watson, and London Woodberry.<\/p>\n

Sporting Portugal loanee Sambinha made his MLS debut when he entered the match in the 89th minute for Agudelo.<\/p>\n

With the win, the Revolution improves to 2-3-7 (13 points) while the Fire falls to 1-4-4 (7 points). <\/p>\n

The Revolution will look to make it two in a row when they host FC Dallas on Saturday, May 21 at Gillette Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
