This week Sean Donahue and Brian O’Connell contributed ratings for the Revs 1-1 draw with the Chicago Fire.

Matt Reis – Average Rating: 7.25 (Brian 7, Sean 7.5)
Bailed out the backline multiple times in the final 20 minutes. Commanded the box well throughout. (Brian) … Little he could’ve done about the first goal, but made five big saves to help the Revs earn a draw and came up huge late in the match. (Photo by CHRIS ADUAMA/aduama.com)

Darrius Barnes – Average Rating: 4.25 (Brian 4.5, Sean 4)
Burned on the Oduro goal and never looked comfortable against the speedy Fire attack. Save on Oduro’s stoppage time shot was the highlight of his night (Brian) … Struggled with the Fire’s pace all night and was beaten on their goal, but made a saving block near the end of the match. (Sean)

Franco Coria – Average Rating: 4 (Brian 4, Sean 4)
Couldn’t keep up with Oduro, and did little to thwart the Fire attack late (Brian) …. A rough night for the Argentine defender as he was beaten on several occasions and similarly struggled with Chicago’s speed, but also made a few impressive tackles to recover. (Sean)

A.J. Soares – Average Rating: 6.25 (Brian 6.5, Sean 6)
Sound performance due in large part to swift tackling and a few dangerous look on set pieces (Brian) … Solid performance by the rookie center back and nearly was the hero with his late chance off a corner kick. (Sean)

Kevin Alston – Average Rating: 5.5 (Brian 5, Sean 6)
Offensively eager early, then stayed at home as the game progressed, likely due to tired legs. Overall, decent performance. (Brian) … Most of the troubling attacks came through the center or the right and Alston limited the Fire’s opportunities down the left. Played a role in a couple of the Revs attacks as well. (Sean)

Chris Tierney – Average Rating: 4.75 (Brian 4.5, Sean 5)
Good on set pieces, but was a non-factor from the run of play (Brian) … Surprisingly quiet night for Tierney, though his set pieces were generally good. (Sean)

Pat Phelan – Average Rating: 6.25 (Brian 6, Sean 6.5)

Another rugged performance from the center half. Made a few good tackles and was pesky on set pieces. The assist was actually a shot stopped and re-routed by Lekic (Brian) … Battled hard in the midfield and saved the Revs on defense on a few occasions. Lucky assist on Lekic’s goal, but he was positioned well to get the initial clearance.

Shalrie Joseph – Average Rating: 5.25 (Brian 5, Sean 5.5)
Inconsistent performance. Failed to steer the attack as the much of the offense came from the wings. (Brian) … Didn’t have as big a role in the offense as we’re used to seeing, but did well to keep possession for the Revs when he had the ball. (Sean)

Sainey Nyassi – Average Rating: 7 (Brian 7, Sean 7)
Looked dangerous all night, tracked back to help Alston, and put some rockets on frame. (Brian) … One of the best performances of the Gambian International’s career for the Revs. Was dangerous all night going forward. (Sean)

Kenny Mansally – Average Rating: 5 (Brian 5, Sean 5)
Nice ball to Nyassi near the 20th, and showed good vision throughout, but his execution wasn’t as good as it was against Toronto (Brian) … Good vision to find Nyassi in space on multiple occasions, but blew a pair of fantastic opportunities to win the game for the Revs. (Sean)

Rajko Lekic – Average Rating: 6.5 (Brian 6, Sean 7)
Rebounded nicely after Wednesday’s woeful performance. Missed a couple of chances near the net, but the goal was a welcome surprise (Brian) … Much better game from Lekic. Scored the equalizer for the Revs and did well with several other opportunities.

(sub) Ryan Guy – Average Rating: 6.75 (Brian 7, Sean 6.5)
Loved what Guy brought in the final 20 minutes. Good touch, smart runs, and a game-saving clearance made it a debut to remember (Brian) … Provided a spark off the bench and saved the Revs was his header off the line. (Sean)

(sub) Zack Schilawski – N/A
Too little time to make an impact.
