After each match the contributors to New England Soccer Today will rate the performances of the New England Revolution players who made an appearance on a 1 to 10 scale (1 horrendous, 5 average, 10 perfection). This week Sean Donahue contributed ratings for the Revs 3-1 loss to the Columbus Crew<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Matt Reis \u2013 5<\/strong>
\nMade some big saves, but at fault for the second goal. Can\u2019t leave his net on a free kick and not get the ball.<\/p>\n

Kevin Alston \u2013 5<\/strong>
\nUnlucky on the own goal, but otherwise did well guarding the speedy Rogers.<\/p>\n

A.J. Soares \u2013 3<\/strong>
\nBeaten by James on the Crew\u2019s second goal and left Renteria unmarked on the third. Blew two fantastic chances for the Revs on the other end. Not a good night for the rookie.<\/p>\n

Darrius Barnes \u2013 5<\/strong>
\nSolid, if quiet, game from Barnes. Can\u2019t be faulted on any of the goals.<\/p>\n

Chris Tierney \u2013 4<\/strong>
\nThe Crew switched Rogers to the right to take advantage of his speed against Tierney in the second half. It worked. Tierney\u2019s set pieces weren\u2019t great either. Credit for taking a rare short throw-in to set-up the Revs lone goal.<\/p>\n

Stephen McCarthy \u2013 4<\/strong>
\nCaught ball watching on Chad Marshall\u2019s early header and had a few poor turnovers.<\/p>\n

Pat Phelan<\/strong> \u2013 4.5<\/strong>
\nGood assist on Feilhaber\u2019s goal, but otherwise his passing was poor in the first half. Weak header led to Mendoza\u2019s early chance.<\/p>\n

Shalrie Joseph \u2013 4.5<\/strong>
\nWas all over the field, but struggled to make an impact on the match. Expected more against the Crew\u2019s weakened central midfield.<\/p>\n

Zack Schilawski \u2013 4<\/strong>
\nStruggled on the right and often forced deep into the Revs half to defend. Didn\u2019t add to the attack outside of one long shot.<\/p>\n

Benny Feilhaber \u2013 6<\/strong>
\nGreat goal and led the attack, while also working hard on defense. Tried to do too much at times and turned the ball over leading to the Crew\u2019s equalizer in one instance of that.<\/p>\n

Milton Caraglio \u2013 5<\/strong>
\nShowed flashes of his quality, including an attempted bicycle kick, but like Feilhaber, at times attempted to do too much. Still not match fit.<\/p>\n

(sub) Kenny Mansally \u2013 4<\/strong>
\nFailed to make much of an impact off the bench. Worked hard to defend Rogers on the third goal, but couldn\u2019t quite catch up.<\/p>\n

(sub) Zak Boggs \u2013 N\/R<\/strong>
\nAdded little as a late sub.<\/p>\n

(sub) Diego Fagundez \u2013 N\/R<\/strong>
\nUnsurprisingly pushed off the ball fairly easily. Attempted volley went high of the net and turnover started the play leading to the Crew\u2019s third goal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
