It looks like\u00a0Pepe Moreno may not\u00a0be in a rush to\u00a0play – or practice – in a\u00a0Revolution uniform anytime soon.<\/p>\n

Five days after\u00a0New England\u00a0announced that it had reached a loan agreement with Colombian side Once Caldas to bring the 30-year-old striker to Gillette Stadium, a report\u00a0surfaced on Tuesday surfaced\u00a0that the deal is off.<\/a><\/p>\n

In speaking with LigaPostonbon.com, the official website of Categor\u00eda Primera A<\/em> (Colombia’s First Division), Moreno hinted that the return of fellow striker Dayro Moreno\u00a0to Once Caldas on Feb. 1\u00a0has\u00a0tempted him to\u00a0remain\u00a0with the Manizales-based team rather than play in MLS.<\/p>\n

“Yes, Dayro encouraged me to stay and fight to achieve the title to half of year,” Moreno told the website, according to a web-based translation service. Photos of the duo training together earlier this week<\/a>\u00a0with Once Caldas have been published on the team’s official website<\/a>, and recent reader\u00a0comments have suggested a possible\u00a0Once Caldas starting eleven\u00a0involving both strikers.<\/p>\n

The report also\u00a0mentioned that although Moreno received an attractive offer to play in MLS, the prospect of “shining” with Once Caldas for the balance of the Colombian season was too strong to resist.<\/p>\n

Although Moreno has not yet been officially added to\u00a0New England’s\u00a0roster as he awaits\u00a0approval of his P-1 Visa and International Training Certificate, a\u00a0Revolution spokesperson told New England Soccer Today<\/em> Tuesday night that the team is “surprised” by the report.<\/p>\n

According to the spokesperson, the Colombian goalscorer signed his contract and loan documents\u00a0last week and that\u00a0the P-1 Visa and ITC processes have already started.<\/p>\n
