Less than a week after the Revolution signed him to their senior roster, U-16 sensation Diego Fagundez scored five goals in two games over the weekend.

Fagundez, who scored a team-high 20 goals for the Revolution U-16’s last season, resumed his goalscoring touch in his club’s season opener Saturday against the FC Westchester U-16s with an eye-popping four goals.

The 15-year-old racked up goals in the 17th, 38th, 46th, and 55th minutes, while teammate Christian Sady set off the scoring in the 14th minute on an unassisted goal via the corner kick as the Revs U-16s cruised to a comprehensive 6-1 victory.

On Sunday, Fagundez scored another in the 27th minute as his club drew Alberston SC U-16s 1-1 in Garden City, N.Y.

In other Youth Academy news, the Revolution U-18 squad clinched a 1-0 victory over the FC Westchester U-18s in Purchase, N.Y. Cole Denormandie scored the decider in the 54th minute with a little help from Fabio Machado, Jr.

But on Sunday, the Revs U-18s failed to find the back of the net, as they fell 1-0 to the Albertson SC U-18s.
