CFC Azul Releases Schedule

CFC Azul will kick off its second season in PDL on May 11 against the expansion Real Boston Rams, following the announcement of their 2013 schedule on Friday.
Additionally, the club also revealed that it will play its home games at the Central Connecticut State University Soccer Field in New Britain, which opened last August. Last year, the club barnstormed across the state, playing at five different “home” venues.
“Last year gave us something to build on,” CFC Azul General Manager Robin Schuppert said in a statement. “I think we did some things right last year, but we also learned some lessons which will benefit us this year. I think I speak for everyone involved with the club when I say we are extremely excited for the season.”
One other change to this year’s schedule: the PDL reduced its regular season from 16 to 14 games for 2013. Each Northeast Division club will host one divisional opponent twice. The Azul will host I-91 rival Western Mass Pioneers for their home opener on May 18, with a return engagement set for Jun. 29.
