Former New England Revolution striker Juan Agudelo earned his first National Team call-up in over a year after he was included in the 24-man roster for the United States’ Mar. 5 friendly against Ukraine.

Agudelo, 21, has 17 caps since making his National Team debut on Nov. 11 2010 at South Africa – game in which he scored the Americans’ lone goal in a 1-1 draw. His last cap came in a Nov. 14, 2012 friendly against Russia.

The 6-1 forward played in 14 games for the Revolution after he was acquired on May 2, 2013 from Chivas USA for allocation money. He scored seven goals, and added three assist to aid the club’s quest to reach the postseason for the first time in four years.

He signed a pre-contract with EPL side Stoke City in August 2013 with the intent of joining the Potters on Jan. 1. But his work permit application was denied, forcing the club to loan him to Dutch side Utrecht.

In addition to Agudelo, Attleboro (Mass.) native Geoff Cameron and Boston College alumnus Alejandro Bedoya were both named to Jurgen Klinsmann’s roster for the match. The match was originally slated to be played in Ukraine before civil unrest forced organizers to move it to Cyprus.
