The Revolution look to beat Sporting Kansas City for a third time this season in their second leg of a two-game road trip.

Scheduled kick-off: 8:00 p.m.

Season series: Third match between the teams this season; Last met at Gillette Stadium on September 3 with the Revolution winning 3-1; Also met on April 26 at Gillette Stadium when the Revolution won 2-0; The last meeting between the two teams at Sporting Park occured during the second leg of last year’s conference semis, when Sporting KC eliminated the Revolution from the playoffs with a 3-1 final (4-3 aggregate).

Revolution update: 13-13-3 overall, 42 points through 29 games (1.45 points per game), with 41 goals scored and 40 goals against….Currently sit three points behind Sporting Kansas City for second place in the Eastern Conference and are one point in front of the New York Red Bulls, who sit in fourth. The Columbus Crew, in fifth place, are two points behind the Revolution….The Revolution are coming off a 1-0 road loss at the Columbus Crew, their first loss in six matches…The Revolution were also shutout by the Crew, the first time they failed to score in 10 games since July 19 at FC Dallas….Despite the Revolution’s recent good form, they have one win and seven losses in their last eight road games…The Revolution are winless in their last eight games at Sporting Kansas City with six losses and two draws, and have been shut out in each of their last three matches at Kansas City…Andy Dorman and Stephen McCarthy are ruled out for the match due to injury while A.J. Soares, who hasn’t missed a match due to injury this season, is listed as questionable.

Sporting Kansas City update: 13-10-6 overall, 45 points through 28 games (1.55 points per game), with 43 goals scored and 34 goals against…..Currently in second place in the Eastern Conference, three points behind DC United…Tied for second in the MLS in fewest goals allowed….Coming off a pair of home victories in the CONCACAF Champions League where they defeated Deportivo Saprissa (Costa Rica) 3-1 and Real Esteli (Nicaragua) 3-0. Sporting KC’s last MLS match was a 4-0 road win at Chivas USA….Sporting KC have lost their last two MLS matches to DC United 3-0 and the Houston Dynamo 3-1, the first time Sporting KC dropped consecutive home matches since Sporting Park opened in 2011….Sporting KC sanpped a four game losing streak against Chivas USA and have lost five of their last seven MLS matches….Sporting Kansas City will be without Lawerence Olum, who is suspended for the match due to yellow card accumulation. Players for Kansas City ruled out for the match due to injury are Ike Opara, Chance Myers, and Christian Duke. Jacob Peterson and Aurelien Collin are listed as questionable for the match due to injury.
