Western Mass Pro Soccer Club (6-0-3, 21 points) is one game away from completing an unbeaten fall 2014 ASL campaign after earning a 1-1 draw against Icon FC (5-1-3, 18 points) on Saturday at Lusitano Stadium.

Fritson Jean-Baptiste put the Lusitanos on the ropes with a 47th minute strike, and the hosts appeared to be down for the count after an 84th minute Matt Mitchell red card left them shorthanded for the duration.

But the hosts punched back right before the bell thanks to a 90th minute Pat Boucher goal. Will Daniels had a chance at the winner in the 90+4 minute, but his shot swerved just wide.

The first-place Lusitanos finish their season on Saturday on the road against Commonwealth rival Mass United FC.

After a scoreless first half, Jean-Baptiste opened the scoring moments into the second stanza. Kevin Zalewski went down the right flank and crossed it for the Icon midfielder, who snapped it into the back of the net.

Western Mass pressed for the leveler, but their cause wasn’t helped when Mitchell was sent off for a serious foul play in the 84th minute.

But the Lusitanos never relented, and their persistence was rewarded during the final ticks of fulltime. A chaotic scramble in front the Icon net ended when Boucher headed it through to keep his club out of the loss column for the ninth straight week.
