Lee Nguyen’s impressive 2014 campaign was good enough to get him named to the MLS Best XI, which was announced by the league on Tuesday.

Nguyen’s 18 goals during the regular season was highest total for a pure midfielder in MLS history, and his nine game-winning goals led the league. To date, he’s scored two postseason goals for the Revolution, whom he helped reach the MLS Cup Final for the first time since 2007.

In November, he received his first call-up to the U.S. Men’s National Team in over seven years, coming on a substitute in the team’s 2-1 loss to Colombia at Craven Cottage.

Nguyen is the first Revolution player named to the Best XI since Shalrie Joseph earned the honors in 2009.

The 28-year-old midfielder is also a finalist for league MVP, which will be announced on Wednesday.
