The Boston Breakers will kick off their 2015 campaign on Apr. 11 at Providence Park where they’ll face the Portland Thorns, while opening their home slate at Harvard Stadium on Apr. 26 against the Houston Dash.

The NWSL announced each club’s home openers on Monday. The Breakers will also serve as the opponent for the Western New York Flash home opener on May 2 at Sahlen’s Stadium.

Although the Breakers will be back at Harvard Stadium for their home opener, field renovations have put the remainder of their home slate in question. On Monday, the Boston Herald reported that another Harvard Stadium tenant – the Boston Cannons (MLL) – will move its home games to Gillette Stadium due to the renovations.

Tom Durkin’s side will be looking to bounce back from an eighth-place finish in which they went 6-16-2 (20 points) in 2014. But it won’t be easy.

During the offseason, the club waved goodbye to key contributors Jazmine Reeves (retired), Lianne Sanderson (Arsenal) and Heather O’Reilly (trade to FC Kansas City). To fill the voids, the club added midfielder Francielle Manoel, as well as forwards Andressa Alves da Silva and Ketlen Wiggers, all of whom hail from Brazil.

“As we start to rebuild, I am happy with the new players and what they bring to a new-look roster,” Breakers general manager Lee Billiard said in a club release last year.
