Revs To Unveil New Secondary Kits on 3/3

Get ready for a new-look Revolution in 2015. Literally.

Days before they kick off their 20th season in MLS, the Revolution will officially unveil their 2015/16 secondary kit on Mar. 3 at the House of Blues in Boston.

MVP candidate Lee Nguyen, U.S. International Jermaine Jones, newly-signed striker Juan Agudelo will be among those in attendance for the unveiling. The House of Blues will open its doors to the event at 5:30pm, with the event officially kicking off around 6:15pm. The event is free, though fans are encouraged to pre-register to guarantee admittance.

“This is always one of the most exciting times for our club as the unveiling of our new kit signals the culmination of more than a year’s worth of hard work on the look and design of our uniform, but also start of another season of Major League Soccer in New England,” Revolution president Brian Bilello said in a club release on Thursday. “With this being our 20th season of play, we think we have come up with a kit that will look great out on the field and in the stands and that our fans will feel is representative of our club. Being able to finally unveil this kit to all of our fans at the House on Blues Boston on March 3 is something the entire club is looking forward to.”

An image of what is believed to be the Revolution’s new secondary shirt was leaked on Saturday. According to the images, the jersey is primarily red with white and green accents. The Revolution have not worn a red shirt since 1999. Visuals of the accompanying shorts and socks have been kept under wraps to date.

The Revolution traditionally wears its secondary jersey on the road, and during U.S. Open Cup competition. It is not yet known whether the new kit will debut when the club kicks off the regular season on Mar. 8 at Seattle.
